I just adopted a black female cat and am letting her get acquainted with her new surroundings I read that people are reluctant to buy a black cat so for the month of July they are cutting the adoption fee in half I cannot believe someone would not wanted a gorgeous cat like the one I have she is jet black with big green eyes and absolutely beautiful I am wondering when she will come to me

Poor thing she's scared. Hopefully she's eating? Leave out some little treats for her also. She'll come around when she's ready and not feeling threatened..Once she figures out you are her new caretaker, she'll learn to trust you.
Later when she's ready for a photo shoot[lol],post her pic.
Good for you for giving her a home. There are SO many kittens and cats without one.The black cat thing I'll never understand,so silly.

the Humane Society gave her and sorry I cannot put that online for confidentiality reasons but it is a unique name and really suits her I have never had any cat that likes to be held the way she does she insists on it right now though she is hiding because she got introduced to my vacuum cleaner I am hoping she will recover!

Congratulations on your new family member! I don't get the whole black cat thing either. Dh and I were adopted by a black cat and we just love her to pieces.
The vacuum cleaner can be a scary thing. The first few times dh used it I snuggled Nok on the couch and reasured her that it wouldn't get her. Now she jumps up on the back of the couch and sits there while dh vacuums.
You will have a great time with your new cat as her personality emerges and she gets used to the noises and smells of your home. Keep us posted on how she's doing.
